You may already know that oranges are an excellent source of Vitamin C.

Vitamin C is the primary water-soluble antioxidant in the body, disarming free radicals and preventing damage in the aqueous environment both inside and outside cells. It’s been discovered that consuming vitamin C supplements doesn’t provide the same protective benefits as drinking a glass of orange juice or eating an orange. That’s why this smoothie might just be the best start to your day you’ve ever had. 

Greek Yogurt has less sugar and more protein than regular yogurt. Your body uses protein to build muscles, blood, bones and cartilage. It helps make your skin and hair look beautiful too, building your immune system as you eat it. It’s packed with probiotics, which is a healthy bacteria that helps with stomach issues and builds up good microorganisms in your intestines to keep you healthy. What I didn’t understand before was that bacteria lives in our intestines, and if bad bacteria builds up then it weakens our immune system. If we add good bacteria like probiotics, the good overpowers the bad, and it builds up our immune system. 

Another ingredient in this smoothie is almond milk. No cholesterol or lactose, full of vitamins and great for losing weight, being healthy and perfect for adding to smoothies.

Ingredients
  1. 1 orange, peeled
  2. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  3. 1 teaspoon honey
  4. 1/4 cup Almond milk
  5. 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  6. 1/2 cup ice
Instructions
  1. -Add all ingredients except ice to a blender and blend until almost smooth.
  2. -Add in the ice and blend until smooth, add more ice if you want it chunkier.
  3. -Serve in a large glass, store left over in the fridge for up to 12 hours.
